Mart Microbiology was set up in 1982 in Netherlands to develop and produce general automation equipment in the field of microbiology. Anoxomat(TM) was launched in 1984 and more than 1200 systems have been installed in the clinical, industrial and laboratories worldwide with several references with well-known scientists. Since then, the original Anoxomat(TM) has been further refined and Anoxomat Mark II system was launched in year 2003.

Mart Microbiology became part of Advanced Instruments in November 2007.
